For app builders

The platform under your apps

Substratal Apps handles the parts every app needs and nobody wants to rebuild: accounts and sign-in, organizations and roles, who gets access to what, subscription billing, notifications and webhooks. One versioned API for your apps, and the Hub to run it all.

The Platform API

A REST API at api.substratalapps.com, versioned with a Substratal-Version header and documented with an OpenAPI spec, so you can generate a client in the language you build in.

Accounts and sign-in

Sign-up, email verification, passwords, multi-factor sign-in, OAuth 2.0 and sessions.

Users and profiles

User records, public profiles, avatars and per-user settings that follow people across devices.

Organizations and tenancy

Teams with members and invitations, and tenant boundaries for apps that serve many customers.

Roles and permissions

Define roles once and check permissions consistently in every app.

Entitlements

A per-app on/off switch for access, for each person or organization.

Subscription billing

Checkout and a self-serve billing portal, powered by Stripe.

Notifications

Push to iOS, Android and the web, plus an in-app notification inbox.

Webhooks

Signed events sent to your services when something changes.

API keys and usage

Keys per app, with request usage broken down by app, key and operation.

Audit

A record of who did what and when, with exports when you need them.

The Hub

The Substratal Hub at hub.substratalapps.com is the console for the platform, and the place your users manage their own accounts.

For your users

Profile, security, sign-in methods, sessions, notifications, billing and settings, in one place.

For builders

Register applications, issue API keys, set up webhooks, and watch usage as it happens.

For teams

Organizations, members, roles and entitlements, managed without writing admin screens.

Your way

Ten light and dark themes, a command palette, and layouts that work from phone to desktop.

How it works

  1. Create an account

Sign up in the Hub and register your application.

  2. Get an API key

Issue a key for the app and generate a client from the OpenAPI spec.

  3. Build your app

Use the API for sign-in, access, billing and notifications instead of building them.

  4. Run it from the Hub

Manage people, organizations and access, and follow usage, from one console.

Start building

Open the Hub to create an account, or read the docs first.
